With Leadline approaching a major sales drive in
late 2003, a period of growth was ahead.
As a call centre, people are the biggest asset
at Leadline, but also the biggest overhead. Staff retention has
always been very high, but the company needed to work harder at
ensuring that people would remain in position during a period of
growth and change.
During 2003 a Focus Group was set up with the specific
objective of developing:
- A structured career path
- Competitive Pay Scales and Grades
- Performance Related Pay/Rewards
The results of this process were presented to the
whole company at the end of October 2003, and then Leadline needed
to make things happen.
Su Willmott joined Leadline at the end of this
process and has been highly instrumental in assisting Lynne Endacott,
a newly appointed HR Manager.
Working through a formalised list of objectives,
processes and procedures have been implemented to give Leadline
a railtrack upon which to base and review all areas of HR. Specifically
Su has been able to bring to Leadline a vast amount of broad experience
to improve the following areas:
- Recruitment
- Induction
- Staff Handbook
- Contracts of Employment
- In house training programme evaluation
- Appraisal Processes
Employment law changes fast and companies like
Leadline need to operate with strict processes and procedures in
place. Su has provided the basis of a structure that will be the
ongoing platform for Leadline. Clare Cross MD explained: "Bringing
